I understand the MWC is planning to Charge local anglers $100 - $150 more per tourny than locals entering 1-3 Tournys. I didn't think this would go over with many fisherman who have always fished 3 or less. Looking for your comments and you may want to E-mail Wildlife forever!!

I sure hope you were mis-informed. If they don't want the locals to fish, they should just say so. I don't think I will pay the extra. Where would this extra money go?

After the last MWC in Lake City, MN we heard that they are thinking $50-$100 more, but are leaning toward $50. They do not want to discourage the locals to fish, but feel the entrants participating in five of the seven tournaments should receive a break in their entry fees. The MWC has had an advisory committee made up of MWC members. They have met after every rules meeting and been given the opportunity to speak up with what they would like to see. Hope this answers a few of your questions.

From what I gathered at that same tourney, they weren't going to charge anyone anything extra, they were going to give a price break to the teams fishing the whole circuit.

There is some truth to what has been said and some not true information.
The MWC is going to raise the entry fee for everyone- True
the money will go straight to the anglers in the payout.
There is now 7 tournamnets where the best 5 will count towards the championship. An angler does not have to fish all 7 to make the championmship, it is still by points to get there. If an angler signs up for all 7 there is a small price break on two of the tournaments the rest are full fee. By signing up for all 7 you will save a whopping 50 bucks. It is an incentive to get anglers to fish all 7.
No one, and I mean no one wants to sock it to the local fishermen! Please dont spread any rumors. The local fisherman are the brothers, fathers and sons, husbands and wives, cousins, and good friends. These teams are still the backbone of the MWC. You are the MWC, without you there is no MWC.
The entry fees going up was an attempt to get more money to more people, not a way to exclude anyone. Many rules are now standardized to make every event easier on the angler. No more guessing what time scheduled events are held.

The C in MWC is there for a reason. The locals, who fish one or two have less invested, as much to gain. They should ante up. (I have only fished three the past few years.) It is in the best interest of keeping a strong CIRCUT. I believe a $400.00 per tourney fishing 5 or more is where it will be at (50.00 per boat towards pay out increase). $500.00 per tourney fishing less than 5 will also be likely, and justifiable.

I also agree. C= Circuit. However as Kaz always said, C also = CONSERVATION! Every locla fishery benefits in some huge way from the conservation monies given to the area fisheries from the MWC anglers. All the anglers, from the one time team to the longest running pro. I also know that another entry fee hike is not in the works at this time. from 1375 a tourney to 400 a tourney. Per team, not per angler.

That is 375 of course, not 1375 as mis typed
