Will be heading up north this weekend to fish some walleyes. Will try some smaller lakes (400 acres and under) in vilas county. Never fished this time of year for walleyes before. Usually too busy bowhunting. What should I do to get into some eyes? Leeches, Crawlers, Minnows, Crankbaits??? Can I expect this big cold front coming in to shut down the fish on these smaller lakes? Thanks for any advice!

Don't be afraid to pull lures shallow(2-7 ft)at night. Between the minnows and the frogs shallow it can be awsome! Fish the wind swept structure. Good Luck!

Don't be afraid to throw #13 floaters along shore the bigger the better.stay in 2-4 feet of water.

Regardless of first day temps, commit to searching the lake w/ your electronics. Study a good lake map before you even leave on your trip. Hopefully you have a decent electronics and know how to use it. Search for schools of baitfish and marks on the bottom. I like pulling 3 ways or bouncers with spinners or stick baits when scoping out a lake. Your fishing and learning the water at the same time. Look for where deep water comes close to shore. Docks & marina have a way of holding baitfish & big fish.
