Does anyone know of good foul weather gear w/ a 36" inseam? Cabela's doesn't say what theirs is and Bass Pro tall only has 33" inseam. When you sit, your ankles are exposed, cold and wet. I'll pay up to $250 for a good pair of bibs - I'd prefer to pay less. Thanks in advance to all who reply. I hate wearing pac boots in October just to stay warm & dry.

Steve, go to www.oingo.com/topic/58/58104.html You will get a listing of about 100 different companies. Scroll down to Filson outdoor clothing and check them out. Plus there are several other stores that will have what you need, just read the caps below the store name. good luck Don
Check out Helly Hansen. I have long legs, and have a suit (bibs and jacket) which is absolutely waterproof, generous length with an "under the foot" strap to hold it down over your boot. This suit is intended for offshore (saltwater) racing sailors, but is exactly the right thing for fishing in northern Minnesota on Thanksgiving day with rain and wind coming right out of Manitoba. Not many stores handle them around here -- I got mine in Oregon -- but I think they're on the web. Try helly-hansen.com of something like that.

There is a place in western ND that makes custom outdoor gear for men and women of all sizes. I am looking for there address but with no luck so far.
Dakota Country used to have advertisements for them in it. My Uncle and my cousins had gear made there and it was top notch last a lifetime stuff, they swear by it! Gore-Tex or whatever materials you wish or special features, they do it up.
Maybe try Bill Metzel at Dakota Country to get more info. 1-800-255-5038, or www.dakotacountrymagazine.com

Try R.E.I. , I think they have a web site . They might not have bibs but they do cary gortex . Pricey though , I paid $250 ,full zipper and snaps around ankels .
I had the same problem with an excellent pair of bibs that I pickud up a year ago. Wonderful bibs, but a bit short in the length - when sitting down. Rather than make a big deal about it - I went over to my favorite fabric store and picked up some matching fabric. Easily obtainable in nylon, gortex, spandex, or pvc coated nylon. They also had the correct matching color.
I let out the hem on the bibs, calculated the desired -- sitting down length for the bibs, and made a leg extension. Then I used a flat felled seam with the sewing machine to stitch the "extension" leg onto the pants. Works great, and total cost was about $5.00
Time was about 1 hour.
Take care

I have a set of guide wear in 2XL. I wear 36 in. inseam but found the bibs to not only be long enough but will drag on the ground when walking on shore. I also carry a pair of cheap pvc boots in the boat for rainy days 9.99 at any farm store. The only way to get wet feet is if they sweat. I would normaly wear a size XL but after reading other posts on W C. I went with 2XL so I could layer for cold day. Work out perfict....
See you on the water
