IS JIG FISHING THE BEST WAY TO CATCH COLD WATER WALLEYE? (38 TO 40 DEG WATER TEMP)

I'm sticking with the jigs and only have a few carp scales to show for my efforts. The boys with crappie rigs and minnows are getting a lot of small, prespawn males.

I catch cold water walleye using Lindy Rigs with minnows hooked through the lips. Last tuesday I was out and they bit on nothing but the lindy rig and minnow. I normally cast a jig and have the lindy rig in a rod holder dragging bottom.

I use the Gamakatsu walleye hooks, green & red colors and a unpainted lead slip sinker. About a 2.5 to 3 ft. leader.

Good Fishing,
