The Chicago area one-day school was started by Mike Norris and Ted Takasake (and has been broadened the past several years). It is a March event -- you should hear about it by New Years.

n? Shoot! I thought I was going to have the honors of passing on the walleye knowledge. Sounds like I better bring a pen and paper with me to the tourny next spring to write down all this info you will be spitting out. Call Alan whitmus, He goes to a couple every year. He has some cassetes he could possibly pass on to you also. I will e-mail you his ph.# "COMA"

Walleyes Unlimited is a fishing club (>500 members) that meets at 7:00 pm the last wednesday of every month in the Lunker Lounge at Bass Pro Shop (Gurnee Mills). Each month, there is a featured speaker, club members fishing reports, and a monthly news letter with fishing information (including list of speakers for the upcoming meetings). If you live in Wisconsin or are willing to travel to Oak Creek, Wisconsin (South of Milwaukee) the club has a similar meeting the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. They have the same format as the Illinois meeting but different speakers and some different club fishing reports.
The cost to join the club is $35.00 per year (24 meetings w/ excellent speakers covering a variety of topics, 12 news letters, and monthly club sponsored outings.
I joined the club 4 years ago and my knowledge of walleye fishing has expanded greatly. Give the club a try, you wont be sorry.
I believe there is more contact information about Walleyes Unlimited in the "club" section here on Walleye Central.

One more thought on Pro speakers. In the spring, Bass Pro Shop has an event called "Spring Fishing Extraviganza" which features seminars for Walleye, Bass, and Muskie by well known professionals. The event is usually towards the Middle to the end of March.
