I am looking into possibly planning a family fishing trip to Lecuyer's Lodge on LOTW. Would appreciate any opinions, good or bad. Thanks.

Hey C-Ray, thanks for the info. I thought for what they include in a package, that it represented good value, but then I didn't know anyone who had been there.
The guide thing for a day or two is an absolute given on big waters like that.
If you may, could you let me know if there is adequate family stuff (good beach, playground, etc), also what the cabins were like.
Kind of funny, before kids, I always wanted to know what the fishing was like?? If you can, please let me know your impression of the fishing
to. Thanks.

I'm not sure what to tell you. I have gone to this lodge in the fall and was very disappointed in the guide service. The food was excellant. The owner is full of BS and talks a good talk, but his ability to deliver quality guides is a joke. That part of LOTW is heavily traveled and my past history was always going over to the Obobikan Bay area, west of where you are going. The first day out, the fishing was extremely slow and in talking with the guide, he informed me that during the summer, he runs his clients all the way over to the Obobikan territory (40 minutes west of Lecuyer's). He told me the area around the lodge there was too overfished and very streaky. I have to believe there are better family lodges, not too far more north of where you are going. I do not remember any significant beach or family activities. Hope this information helps you avoid a bummer of a week.

Thanks footdoc. Guess it seemed too good to be true for the price. Do you have any suggestions for a balanced (good facilities and good fishing)
vacation? Appreciate it.
BTW, have you been able to talk any of the drug reps into any more fishing boondoggles, or is it back to the golf course on that option. Also, I wouldn't mind finding a CME course that "just happens" to be at a fishing resort. Plummer's Great Bear lodge used to have one put on by Univ of Minn, but I noticed they didn't have it on the schedule for this year.
Take care for now.
