Through positive information gained from this forum I have started useing the Sea-Foam product in my small OB and the initial results have been positive. My question is do I run the suggested amount with every tank of gas? It's a 25hp Merc. with a small 8 gallon tank.

thanks.

A couple times a year is what I do. Or as needed if running a little rough/bad gas etc.

I run 1 can of sea foam for each 20 gallons of fuel, year round. I believe the can says it treats something like X to 16 gallons, so I run it a bit diluted. Granted, this ratio changes somewhat, as I don't always put in exactly 20 gallons (40 gallon tank), but I try to keep it around that ratio. Why do I run it year round? Makes me sleep better :)

Dave, I do the same thing, one can for every 20 gallons, year round. I've got a 40 gallon tank and I usually fill it up when it gets down to about a half a tank, at that time I dump in a can of Seafoam.

In this area, most gas stations (Mobil, anyways) and auto parts stores (NAPA, Checker, etc) carry it for around $4/can. I typically buy it at Fleet Farm, as it seems to go on sale about every third week for about $3/can, then I buy it by the case.

Sea Foam is available from any Auto Value store. Some stores might not have it on the shelves but can special order.
