What suggestions do you folks have on make the "curtain hangers" attached to the release side down the tow line better?

Dave, this may sound strange, but I use the line that goes on a weed wacker" Whipping Line" . The diameter is around .120, which is the thickest that I could find. My releases slide nice and smooth down the line.
I have not had the line break at all, and it spools on the planer board reels rather well.

Watch the Weed Waker line. If is is wet from use and sits in the sun it may swell up more and crack your reel. Friend of mine had it happen! Switch to #200 Fireline thinest diameter, does not soak up any water and sag, and your releases will "run" down easily.

We use bow wax & it works fine.
Also use weedwacker line a litte. The advantage on this is that is also works a little like a shock absorer (SP) will stretch a litte. didn't like it because it would seem to have memory & not want to roll up neatly.
