problem #1 - If I have my 24v0lt trolling motor plugged into the 4 prong bow plug but not running and flip the batt test sw to batt 1 ok but if I flip down to the batt 2 posit. it trips the breaker on the batt 2. Dealer sez this happens with all Smokers (1999 ProMag).

Prblem # 2 - Lms 350A Lowrance does not funtion above 20 mph due to cavitation. Dealer sez common problem due to hull design and rivets cauing bubbles.

I have had other boats and have never had this problem . Any suggestions?

I don't have that model smoker, but I am hesitant when the dealer says they all do that. For one, I think he is passing the buck, and two if these were common problems He should have told you about them before selling you the boat. If I were you I would demand a resolution, when you are laying the money down!

I'd agree with Davy on the passing the buck thing. Sounds like the transducer is out of possition a bit. If the rivets were to cause bubbles they'd have to be far ahead of the transducer in order to come in contact with it at those speeds. Normally they are not any farther than a few inches ahead. That should be no problem. I think the dealer is giving you a line that you don't want to bite.

Also, if "They all do that" were true that boat would be off the market in no time. No one would buy it for fishing anyway.

I'd think about pushing that dealer to fix or replace whatever needed fixing or replacing. Ask him if he'd run it that way. If he says "Yes." tell him to buy the boat from you and give you another in it's place. One that works the way YOU want it to.

Good luck....kev
