Another propane question. main tank is leaking around the threads at the junction of main vavle and main tank?. Any way to stop this leak? or buy a new tank?. tried jb weld and spray paint. no go since the tank was just filled to see if it was leak free?.

I have a tank that does the same thing. Thinking the only thing to do is bled off the tank out side in an open area, go to a plumbing store and get a pipe sealant compound that comes in a can with small brush, take out valve coating theads with pipe sealant, reinstall valve, and have tank refilled.

Thanx dave, I already took care of it. I went to kwik shop and exchanged the tank for a full one that does not leak for 10.00. I think they are suppose to check them before they put themm back out.

Iceman, I hope you are right that they will check it out adequately before putting it back in circulation. For myself I could not put a defective tank back into the supply channel and just hope that the possible disasterous consequences did not occur.
