View Full Version : Which Ranger?
LAST EDITED ON Apr-03-00 AT 02:10PM (CST)[p]I'm going to be ordering either a 681 or 617 Ranger in 2 weeks and am still undecided. I appreciate the responses I received here a few months ago. Any new input would be appreciated!

Ron: I just picked up my new Ranger 681 this past weekend - new boat- neat huh! i chose this hull because I wanted a 4 stroke (got the new Yamaha 115) and wanted to be close to max hp for the hull. When shopping I did compare between the 681 and 617 - appears to me that the 617 has more below deck storeage than the 681 and I believe it is a heavier hull but went with the 681 for the above reason. You can check out the interior layout on the ranger web site.
If you go with the 681 take a look at the removeable back deck- makes a big difference in standing room in the stern. What a dilemma - which Ranger to choose from! Good luck and good fishing, miket!

Go with the 617, Gotta love that center rod box. I saw the 617 and the 681 at the local boat show and the 617 looks deeper than the 681. Removable rear deck is available as an option as with the 681. The one I saw had a Yamaha 150.
Basically I like the 617 but you can't go wrong with either because they are a Ranger.
