Well from what I've heard it's been worth the wait. Sonny say's that they will announce the circuit on Wed. I think that is going to take us to the next level. I can't wait to hear the site's and dates and payouts.

I am also looking forward to this Operation Walleye circuit along the same lines as the FLW Tour for Bass.

I think the circuit will bring not only Walleye fishing but fishing in whole to a next level. Providing not only the bass scene with competition, and insipration to next up the Walleye scene, but also it will bring other species not so widely fished for to a public attention never seen before.

I look forward to it very much as I have said,

YUP and in 2 hours it will be Thursday, NO RCL INFO and it doesn't surprise me one bit. C'MON SONNY, everybody knows you can do the corporate tap dance, but OMC can't pay the band with 1000 people with lay-off notices in their Christmas stocking. Tell the folks you can't put the deal together without a major motor sponsor and all motor sponsors are noy buying the "fish with my RCL boat" rule. WE ARE WAITING.

This RCL tournament is shutting out 3/4 of the competition by not allowing other types of boats to enter their tournaments. Oh well, their loss.

If it is all about marketing, (which it is) then it doesnt matter. They want to see the right boats and thats that!

The RCL wants the best fisherman, and they know that the best fisherman use one of these best boats.

Tired of your negative image

The word is out they were talking about it tonite on the chat site. The foremat is fantastic an so is the payback. The best ever in the Walleye world. Mifish I'm sorry you can't play but get a life. It's the Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Series. With a payout of $390,750 dollars per event. No one even comes close to it. So if they want to reward the owners of Ranger, Lund or Crestliner by having a Walleye Circuit so be it. And as far as OMC, Mercury or Yamaha would kill to be involved with this series if OMC dropped out. And even in your small mind, you can't Believe that would hold up the final release do you.

Once again why is anybodies opinion NEGATIVE when it doesn't agree with your opinion???? When you can answer that question then you have a may have right to respond to my posts. I don't post here much but read quite a bit. I've seen the same type of attitudes on the Bass side of things. It's sour grapes because MIFISH doesn't have the equipment that is needed to play. Grow up. They don't owe you anything and you don't owe them anyting. So what.

I don't have the boat to qualify and don't care either. I find it kind of strange that someone is out to give this Sonny a rash over this when that person can't even play.

Guys like you have whinned on the FLW side of things because you didn't get your way. It has cost many of them who *****ed and moaned for so long. Some who were successful, never got the full benefit of sponsorships because of their complaining. Say what you want, it's a piss poor image being labled as such and it gets you no where. It does no good for your sport either.

Why you in such a hurry to get these dates? You playing road manager wannabe for someone in Michigan?

Dear Mark, Scott is out of town for the holidays. The release was sent to him to post. The release is now at Zach's and will be posted as soon as he can do it. The RCL has no control of when it gets on the board. I saw it on the wire and on another board. I also saw that Bernie posted it here so look a little farther.

Howdy Mark , After looking at the rules on another sight it looks like you'd have to swap that Warrior for a Ranger too play anyway.

Have a good one

Here's the announcement. Maybe you will stop whinning:

GILBERTSVILLE, Ky.--Operation Walleye announced Thursday the introduction of a $2.9 million professional walleye fishing circuit known as the Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Series.
The announcement comes less than three months after the organization held its first walleye event - the $1.4 million Wal-Mart RCL Championship in Green Bay, Wis. The RCL Championship held Oct. 4-7, 2000, awarded a top prize of $300,000 cash to Scott Glorvigen of Grand Rapids, Minn., instantly placing him among the sport's top all-time money winners.
Named after retail giant Wal-Mart and boat manufacturers Ranger, Crestliner and Lund, the RCL Series will be the world's most lucrative walleye fishing circuit and the center of attraction for the nation's 4 million walleye anglers.
According to Operation Walleye president Charlie Hoover, the Wal-Mart RCL Series is intended to elevate competitive walleye fishing to national stature through top-dollar tournaments and big name sponsors - a formula that has worked well in other professional fishing arenas.
"We view this as an opportunity to help grow the sport as a whole," Hoover said. "After an extremely successful RCL Championship earlier this year, we decided to continue the momentum and build on the foundation laid by that event and by the tournament organizations that supported it."
The 2001 RCL Series will consist of four qualifying events and a year-end championship. Each full field qualifier will award anglers $390,750 and a Ranger, Crestliner or Lund boat. The top Pro Division award in each qualifying event is $50,000 plus a Ranger, Crestliner or Lund boat, and the top Co-Angler Division award is $15,000. The RCL Championship will feature a top award of up to $400,000 in the Pro Division and up to $150,000 in the Co-Angler Division. All told, the RCL Championship purse could award up to $1.4 million cash.
The first tournament of the new series will be held April 11-14 on Lake Erie in Port Clinton, Ohio, followed by a stop in La Crosse, Wis., May 9-12 for a tournament on the Mississippi River. The two remaining qualifying tournaments will be held June 13-16 on Saginaw Bay in Bay City, Mich., and Sept. 5-8 on Devils Lake in Devils Lake, N.D.
Green Bay, Wis., the site of the inaugural RCL Championship, will host the 2001 RCL Championship Oct. 2-6. There, North America's finest walleye anglers will fish the Fox River and Green Bay for the sport's top award.
Ranger, Crestliner and Lund boat owners will fill the 175 pro slots in each RCL qualifying event while 175 co-angler berths in each tournament will be available to the public. Entry fees for each tournament are $1,250 for pros and $500 for co-anglers.
Anglers in each qualifier will fish in three elimination rounds. The full field will compete for two days, after which the field will be cut to the top 60 pros and co-anglers who will then compete for one day in the semi-final round. The top 12 pros and co-anglers after the semi-final round will advance to the final day of competition. Catch weights carry over for the first two days, but anglers will start the semi-final and final rounds from zero.
Entry fees for the $1.4 million RCL Walleye Championship are $1,500 for pros and $750 for co-anglers. A total of 200 anglers from the RCL qualifiers and other sanctioned tournament organizations will compete in each division during the championship.
Complete program details and entry forms will be forthcoming on the Web at www.operationwalleye.com. Additional information on the 2001 Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Series is also available from Operation Walleye at 270/362-5259.

If you are fishing as a co angler you do not have to own an R,C or L. They may get preferential registration but are not committed.

To Mi fish you must not own one of the R C L boats so don't cry because you can't play with the big boy's. Stay on the pourch with the little boy's.

Fish One, that is not fair. Everyone has an opinion, but speaking as a Ranger Fanatic, I would NEVER say only "Big Boys" run RCL boats. There are plenty of "Big Boys" that run any brand you'd care to think of. The fact that some people may seem to have a negative or narrow minded opinion or just plain not like the RCL, doesn't mean anothert should toss out a remark like that. Let's try to keep things in the arena of common sense, even if someone else doesn't.

Think about what you just said. If that is true then the best fishermen only use Shimano or Diawa reels. They only use G-Loomis or St. Croix rods. They only use Mustad or VMC hooks. They only pull their boats with Ford or Chevy trucks. They only fish for walleyes or bass. Do you get how silly your statement sounds now?
