Fished Vermilion area Sunday & Monday. Didn't get "numbers" of fish, but filled the box.
10 eyes total: 84 lbs (4)Fish Ohio
(1) 30-1/2 in 12-1/2 lbs
(1) 31-1/2 in 11-3/4 lbs
(1) 29-3/4 in 11-3/4 lbs
(1) 29-1/2 in 9-3/4 lbs
Had 2 others that went 8-1/2 lb and 27 inches. These fish are BULKED up for winter, so NOW is the time to get your wallhanger.
Numbers were 32/27 to 32/28. Lure was Rainbow Deep Reef Runner 130ft back. Only 1 fish high, 50ft back off a board. Also 3 Steelhead hookups!
Feels like the perfect way to end a season, so I'm putting the boat away now... maybe http://www.walleyecentral.com/dcf/Images/wink.gif
PS: Special thanks to Den, for re-opening after hours to record and photograph our catch.
I'd like to make the trip to Vermillion, from Pittsburgh. Can you tell me anyplaces to stay and what boat launch would make for the shortest trip to the fish. Thanks.
Mick, give me a call at 1-888-855-9032, and i can fill you in and suggest a few things, ask for denny. i will be here until 2pm today(Thursday) friday from 6am to 7:30pm. the wind is supposed to be from all over the place today, but not supposed to be strong, then go back to the south, and s/west later. The fish are here, its just finding the active ones, which are mostly in the top 10 foot right now(in the evening) in the shallow water. 22 foot and less. good luck and good fishin. Dave's fish were fat as a thanksgiving turkey. happy thanksgiving to all who read this.
Den
And a happy Thanksgiving to you too Den. It's good to know there's an other guy who enjoys the quiet of the morning. Shoot I've got my wifes cooking done for her already. Don't eat too much turkey. Have a great day. Say a prayer for Bull's family. I'm hopeing to get up over the weekend.
ETT, have fun,as i know you will if the lake co-operates. yes it is a little early now, airwave did make it to the water, but i don't know if he caught any yet. maybe see you fri. or sat. then i am gonna be gone for a week hunting .catch a big-un for me. good luck and good fishin. and i will say a prayer for Bulls family.
Den
with the info. I havent been able to get online the past 2 days much.
Mick: I usually stay at Motel 6 in Amherst ~$35, not fancy but clean. Dont have the # handy, but Den will help you out for sure. There is a small motel very near his store as well. It would be best to have a buddy with you as the river launch is a bit tricky, with the dock out and the low water. But its do-able.
Den: Stopped and got fixed up with "Ray" on the way home, and Im all set there. Thanks for hooking me up with him.
Happy T'giving to all!
Dave
Dave, when are you coming back up?????? its just gettin good. ha ha. give me a call after deer season and we will get out for sure.

Hi,
Anyone notice that the report is from 1999.Any else having troble loging in.
Fished on Saturday out of Virmilion from Ruggles to the Vermilion River in 22 to 34 ft. of water and caught a two man limit in about four hours using all Reef Runners ( pink lemonade, bare naked ). Started fishing at 4:30 pm. Fish ranged from 3 to 8 lbs. A great day.
