Fished the river Saturday 11/20. Boated 55-60 eyes between 14-16". Had 25 over 15". Best areas were Hooters (Used to be Hollys Landing) and further down by the train bridge. Jigged 1/4 fireballs chart/orange & minnow. Rust Ave. launch was in good shape.

Fish like crazy. Lots of fish in the rivers! If your inclined fish at night under the bridges. bigger fish being caught at night. A buddy of mine caught his limit-plus 7 days in a row.
Set the hook like you mean it!

We're heading there sunday for the first time ever, live near Mt. Pleasant . Were looking to launch at wickes park. Is this a good launch?. Also, what kind of minnows work best, and where do you get them around there. Thanks. I may not read this till sunday moring on my way to the river, so thank you in advance, and keep up the posts on the saginaw river valley area!

The docks were pulled out at Wickes Park. Launch across the river at the Rust Ave. facilities. Get your minnows at the bait store across the street from the McDonalds in Saginaw. I'm no expert on Saginaw streets but it is about 2 blocks west of the launch then go about 3 blocks north until you see the McDonalds. Look for "Live Bait" sign on an old corner building. The minnows are of good size and you get plenty for your money.

Have been making daytrips from Muskegon for the last two weeks. Lots of little fish, but a few big ones are being caught. I popped an 11 pounder tuesday, and it is waiting for the ride to the Taxidermist next wednesday. The other posting about using Rust avenue launch is right on the money. The bait shop is on the corner of Michigan, and mackinaw streets. The guy is real friendly, and his "Dozen" is about 30! Most of the fishing has been upstream of the launch ramp lately. Lots of fish holding in the dunes between Rust ave bridge, and the mouth of the Tib. Pay close attention to the area right in front of the Wickes Park Launch! Good Luck, and will see all of you Sunday on the river!!
