Yesterday while monitering the marine radio i kept hearing about a walleye bet between a couple of boats, and while fishing with a couple of guys in the same area last night i was wondering just who won the bet? was it Rick and Rick, or Dan and Jim? either way there were some very nice fish caught last night. And as of 6pm(today) thursday evening, it looks like another very good evening was going for the boat fishermen again.While the huron pier fishing has yet to really take off, the boaters just keep catching some very good fish. i have been in on some of it myself and it can be a blast, it is cold, but if you dress for it , and be careful, it is some of the best walleye fishing that can be had anywhere in the world. the water temperatures are right where the fishing should really take off, and it is. the pier should start popping in the next few days as the shad and minnows will be going farther up the river now seeking the warmer temps. the fish should be close behind. good luck and good fishing.
