How has the fishing been on the rivers? I am planning a trip for this weekend. I plan on fishing the same areas we do in the spring. Any news would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mark, we have fished it twice in last two weeks, one morning we had 18 fish, another day we caught about 12, had to work at them all day. Most fish were caught in front of hooters in Saginaw with a couple taken near the convergence.
Good Luck
Dan
PS, Watched most boaters on the river do about the same, haven't seen anything over 4 lbs caught as of yet.

Mark,

I have fished the Sag three consecutive weekends. (5 times) We have caught over 25 fish each time. A couple of the days we caught over 60 fish. Most run 15-18, but we caught several nice fish. (one 7 lbs) Do not fish in front of hooters.....too many boats and not many fish being caught. Fish in front of Wicks Park! Good Luck!

I am new to the saganaw river and I also will be going in a few days and would like to know what it is like out there how you did and all that good stuff. let us knowhow you did! I will not be able to make it out until the 27 - 31 I hope that it will still be fishible. ( meaning "soft water").This trip will be my first, I do most of my fishing in the St. Clair river and Det river but would like to do something new. Also can any one tell me the best places where to launch from and how to get there travleing north on 75.
How many Lake St Clair Walleye club members are out there reading this.

if you dont have time this weekend to go . you might be to late.. the rivers current is slow to nil. will freeze up fast if it hasnt already.. Im going down that way today will let you know how it is. might need to bring your ice fishing gear.. we fished the river a few weeks ago and the fishing was good. lot of little ones caught and a few nice ones.. fished up from wickes Park and in front of the public boat launch... best colors were gold and chart.. good luck
