Sorry for the late post, Santa is busy getting ready for Christmas:)
Fished off Ruggles 12/29 from ~6pm-2am without hit.
If anyone is considering making a trip to the lake or going out, get ahold of Denny @ the Sportsman's Outpost in Vermilion, OH (11.5 mi east of the Huron River launch on 6, next to Wendy's (N side of the road). This was our first experience with him and he gives excellent information and is very, very willing to help you out! If you are on the lake, he monitors CH79 while in the store.
We marked tons of fish at the following numbers, but only snagged some shad (12-14")! These numbers had solid fish from 16-25 (bottom). Talking w/ Denny, we think any walleye in these numbers were probably feeding on the shad and we had a poor chance of hooking up. We did make some wide swings through 18-31' without any hits.

N 41 24.521'
W 82 27.048'
N 41 24.502'
W 82 28.060'
We ran ripsticks, thundersticks, rapalas, shad raps, & rouges without a bite. We ran everwhere from 50'-120' back of the boards and tried lead core. The water was pretty clean in the early evening, but when the wind switched to SE, it blew the mud out and I don't think of the few fish caught (see other posts), any were after 6pm.
Anyone interested in planer board lights, Denny has some in now. The really help you see the where the boards are tracking.
If you go out, be CAREFUL, you will only last about 15 minutes in that water!
Good Luck!
