Tying some spinners over the winter and am looking for some feedback from L. Erie Western Basin fishermen on most succesful spinner colors and under what conditions the colors work best. Thanks in advance!

I am taking for granted that you are talking about making Weapons for casting in the western basin. The number 1 color is Gold in clear water. Perch and Chart/Orange work in stained water. Best size is #2 Colorado, or #3 Indiana. Good Fishing.

try the Bait Rigs Astro Brite #5 in firetiger It' s chart, black, orange, green. That is the number 1 color on the Canuck side followed by hammered copper, char/orang, char/green throw in some hammered nickel and day in and day out you're covered. these are readily availiable at the local shops. You can call Bait Rigs direct at 18002367441

#4 Hammered Gold, in the colorado deep cup (the bottom of the blade is bent in creating quit a bit more vibration). From there gold/chartruese, char./orange. I did have fish hit high one day on Red/silver. Best thing you can do is tie up the harnesses with quick change clevices. It will make it very easy to tune in the proper color/size combination for the blades.

I prefer a #5 colorad blade for the big roaming walleye of Lake Erie and Saginaw Bay.

I have found those fish are after bigger bait fish, usually suspended in the water.

Often I find myself going with Silver, Gold, and Copper. Usually with a tappered backend to the balde to add vibration and a better swing of the blade at a slower speed. Hatchet style blades I have also found to work well in these metallic blades.

I have also found the "Normal" colors work often just as well. Such as Orange, Green, Chartruese, and Blue. The blue is something I have found to work very well with a copper or gold blade with overcasted clouds. The others it seems work just as well in any conditions, just depending on the individual days bite.

I hope this was some help, if you need some more advice email me, and I will get to you soon as possible.
