I was there Monday night. There was alot of walleye feeding right at the wall, I mean alot. kept the light close to the edge. You could see them come right to under the water surface, grab the bait then roll back in. I've tried everything, fir runers, rapalas, huskys, ratlers, floater, divers, suspenders, red, blue , gold, silver, shartruse, ckauns, you name it. Slow, super slow, medium, fast. Even tried gigs. So if you got a magic way of making them see your lure, the fish are definitly there, there were quite alot of them right up to 1 foot from shore, from 7;00 pm to about 11:00 pm.There were about nine of us and none of us got anything, a couple of guys claimed they had about six hit each, but i doubt it. 12 hits should at least produce one fish on, even if you lose it. It was from frustrating to down right driving you crazy, a few more night like this and I'm about to hang it up. IF ANYONE, FROM ANYWHERE, HAVE ANY SUGESTION ON HOW TO MAKE THEM SEE THE LURE, PLEASE ADVISE!!!!. it's not even a question of them feeding or not, because you can see them feasting maddly. Anyway, that's what's going on. I'll be there one more time Thursday night.

I've never fished the Huron pier so I'm not familiar with the area, but I have to ask the obvious question...Did anyone in the group try using a live lake shiner on a plain hook or jig? Thanks. TK

I did try gigs, but I don't realy know how to fish a gig. I'm doing it as I've heard from others, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it corectly. Next time I go there I will throw in a bottom double hook harness with a crawler and a leach on them. I used to catch them like that at Pymatuming Lake. It's definitely worth a try. thanks for the advice though, I feel better now, I was very pissed of the other night, man if I wouldn't have seen all that fish there it wouldn't have frustrated me as much!

Hey Ihave had trouble with eyes just like you claim fish feeding at the surface but nothing I use works. If you take a live minnow and hook it on a plan hook no weight swivel or anything let it flounder near the surface can bring good results. I have done this many times and have had good luck with it. Try tail hook but not thru spine or lip hook.

Fish crazy, have you tried using a good stiff
7ft. rod, 20lb. test line with a #2/0 lazer sharp
treble tied on!!! just a thought! LOL!
I know some of you were thinking that!!!

Hey I have seen quite a bit of that. Three years ago we had a huge run of saugeye at the Pleasent hill spillway. I saw alot of guys running tubes with heavy shot catching fish in the back tail or where ever. Some guys though them back many others kept them. Two guys I watched snagged their limit of fish running 5 and 6 pounds. They left and came back in less than an hour and did it again. When I left around 2 in the morning with 6 legal fish they had probably sagged 30 each. Nuts like that around you say something to them and you may end up in the river. A call to the warden did not get anybody down to check it out. They probably did not want to walk down the hill. I have seen snagging and it sure pisses me off.
