Both Atwood and Piedmont are producing good numbers and size. Bigger fish from Atwood but not as many. You can still launch your boat there. Piedmont is giving up numbers of "eaters" from 15" to 20" but you will have to bring a boat that you can launch from the back of a truck or ,if you have 4wd, you can still launch at the rest area on Rte.#22. We took 2 fish over 8lbs. from atwood a couple of weks ago and a 6 lb. last Monday, along with some smaller "eaters" You could get an easy 15 to 30 fish per day at Piedmont if the wind is stiff and out of the S. or S.W. Points and the roadbed have been good. Stay between the dam and the far corner of the entrance to Essex Bay. If the fish aren't on structure, try draging 4 to 6 inch chubs or shiners on floating jig heads w/ stingers on Carolina rigs out in the main basin in 24 to 30 feet of water. At Atwood the same thing holds. Floating rigs in the basin for #'s, but all of our big fish lately there have come SHALLOW. I'm talking 2 to 5 feet of water, on points casting spoons and bladebaits.
