I watched the RCL tournament program from Green Bay Wi. yesterday and I had an idea. With walleye fishing growing in popularity and bass fishing arguably being the most popular form of fishing in North America, why not have an ultimate fishing championship combining total weight for both bass and walleye in one three day tournament? Or, a pro-bass angler could be paired with a pro walleye angler in some sort of team championship. The added variable of what species to target for how long and when would make for an interesting tournament. Even the bodies of water fished would be interesting; Erie, Canadian Shield lakes, southern resevoirs, even some of the more urban lakes like Geveva in Wisconsin, where walleyes are an extremely tough nut.In would love to see how really good fishermen would segment their time between species.

That was done and tried a few years back. On the Mississippi, Quincy, IL.
Bob "KAZ" OF the MWC put it on.

I do have to admit I would watch a Tournament that you could see Scott Martin and Mike Gofron pairing up together.

Would be interesting, and the Operation Walleye/Bass Organization would probably do a great job.

Might have be a good Millenium style Tournament if there would have been time.

Yes, "Kaz" from MWC did it twice. One in Quicy, Ill., and the other on Green Bay where the RCL was hosted. I fished in both, and had a lot of fun. Format was good except for one thing. We should have been able to fish for bass on one day and walleye for one day instead of both species each day. The reason, I believe, that it wasn't very successful, was the time of year that it was held. Both tournaments were held in the first week of October and we only drew about 35 teams each year.Be that as it may, it was still alot of fun.
