Hope to go on ice tomorrow, sat. I hear they are
going west out of catawba, any report on how the ice is and if they are doing anything would be appreciated. are they still taking 4 wheelers out?

I was told that there were some cracks with a couple foot gap in them out there now, and that there was some soft spots, so if you go make sure that you arent the first one to go out. and be super careful. it is getting soft out there, and the current is bad there, so the ice can dissapear fast. with the fresh snow on top you cant see where it is thin ,and it isnt gonna get any thicker now, it is just going to get thinner. good luck and good fishin, above all be SAFE.

Toledo Blade reported the coast guard pulling guys off the ice yesterday....I'd cancel your trip if I were you.
