And all the supporters of gun registration in Canada said it couldnt happen! they only want us to register our guns, whats the big deal? Here it is, they are already moving the lines they set down, they will continue to class more and more weapons as restricted and more and more restricted arms as illegal. Next step total confiscation. Ha ha ha ha ha you morons! You bought it hook line and sinker!

In a nutshell, what are the Canada Gun laws at this time, regular shotguns and rifles are still unregulated arent they?

Actually, that isn't the case. When I was hunting this fall in Ontario, I was informed that this year, to posses a shot gun in Canada, to bring one in, I will have to file for a permit, pay 50 bucks and follow some screwed up schedule of when to reapply. Supposedly the permit is good for a year, but after two or three months, you must resubmit personal information. I asked one resort owner up there what their statistics were on foreigners shooting up the places with shotguns and then doing so again in 60 days? It's insane. This resort owner went to public meetings about the law and he said when pressed, the govt. could give no evidence of outside citizens being a problem. He also said some of the law is open to interpretation.

#####, Dennis at Bass Haven can't even get a straight answer on the helmet law for four wheelers riders on the ice.

Definate signs of overreaching government and people who are willing to stand by and let them have their way.

It is the law in Ontario that helmets be worn on Snowmobiles and ATV's. Has been this way for 30 years. I find it hard to understand how one cannot get a straight answer on helmets. A resort owner who is catering to his clients has a responsibility to make sure that they are informed of our laws if he witnesses them doing something unsafe or wrong. He should have known better. This does not sound right to me.
