Happy New Years!

I'm looking at purchasing a new bottom bouncer rod. I will be buying a 6'6" St Croix Premier casting rod. My question is, should I be looking for a medium or a medium-heavy action rod. I primarely fish Mille Lacs, pulling bottom bouncers up to 1 1/2 ounces or so.

Thanks

I've got one of each, and I use the medium for bouncing up to 1 1/2 oz, and go to the medium heavy for bouncers up to 3 oz. Good choice on the 6-6 length, too. A seven footer will wear out your forearm in a hurry.

I use a 6' loomis GL3, SR722. It is a fast action medium rod. I use it for bottom bouncing pretty much exclusively. It is awesome for bouncin. I really don't feel that you need a long one, just personal preference. If you can only get one, I think I'd get the medium action. For more instances the mh would be overkill, and the medium can handle the heavier weights if needed. Just my opinion. great rod choice in st croix though.
