Buglin'

My Dad will be travelling from Montana to SW Michigan in February for about 2 weeks. He is looking for some ice-fishing information. What lakes to fish? Where can you rent a ice-augor? Anyone need a fishing partner? He will be visiting my brother who just moved to the Kalamazoo area and knows nothing about the area fishing.
Any help would be appreciated............Thanks!
Buglin' Away...................
hey buglin',
i'm a little north of ya and haven't tried some of the lakes, but here's some lakes i've heard are good in the area. gull lake and gun lake both have good reputations, lake allegan is good sized, but i've not heard anything as to eyes. northwest of k'zoo there is lake macatawa(holland) open to lake mich and good walleye population. and further up the shore is muskegon lake with a strong population of eyes. there is also some good river fishing on the k'zoo and st joe rivers, though i don't no if there is any ice fishing areas. here is a web site you may get more detailed walleye info for sw mich http://members.wmis.net/tconner/wmwcreports_toc.htm hope this helps, check the bait shops for where the fish are and where there getting caught.
