I am looking for a Canadian fly-in vacation for my dad and myself, for next summer. I've never been on one and am looking for references to a few resorts that you have had a great experience at. We are looking for a resort that is going to really cater to us-from meals to guides to nice accomodations. Our species of choice would be walleyes. Any advice is appreciated..

I would highly recommend Sunset lodge in the Northwest Angle of Lake of the Woods. The resort is modern, having been built mostly in the 70's early 80's. The food is great and so are the guides. They pride themselves on service. There is a hot tub and sauna and a full bar for relaxing at the end of the day. You can find them at www.ccco.net/sunset.

Tell them hello from me. Ask for Jason or Dave a.k.a. the white indian for your guide. Email me if you need anymore info.

Check out Ignaceoutpost.com or at one of the Winter shows. Ask for Brad or Karen.

Look into Way North camp. I have been going there for the last five years and the walleye, pike and trout fishing is great. Check out previous posts on the canada board for more info. E-mail me if you would like more info. They do not have a web site as of yet but it is coming. Good luck.

see truenorthlodge.com I was there last year and great people and food. Don't need a guide, walleye are everywhere. 100's a day per person ranging 15-24 in and avg 19.
Have fun!

Try Bull Moose Camp on Upper Goose Lake. Fly out of Red Lake Ontario. Two big lakes and river chain. Walleye factory and clean camp. Haven't been there for last few years but excellent place with lots of fish. Enough islands so you can fish even if it gets windy. Have to bring in your own food and beer though and do your own cooking.

I had a BAD experience with Dogskin Lodge. When I tried to talk to owner at the next sports show he ignored me. Turned his back on me. I would go else where.
