I've taken my boat over the bridge to Windsor countless times. There's rarely any delay at customs("Citizenship?" "U.S" "Where you going?" "Fishing at Erieau" "Go ahead") although I have been pulled over, inspected, and had to fill out some type of registration form regarding using a U.S. boat in Canada. That took about 15 min.
