Does anyone know of any clinic like the Betty Ford center for lure junkies? I just got my new 2001 Master Catalog from Bass Pro Shops last night, and I feel a huge binge coming on! Even though I have seperate tackle systems for Trout, Walleye, Pike and ice fishing I was still able to find 52 items "I must have". I am truly sick, all this tackle and I don't even have a boat!

This morning I got a personal telegram from Jonny Morris of Bass Pro Shops. It seems that he and his wife are building a new home and are thinking about building a private heated dock also. They can't decide how big it will be, till they get my spring order, lol.

Please help, or better yet send gift cetificates!

through careful manipulation a lowrance graph can be reprogrammed to administer electro-shock therapy. if this fails try looking up your local chapter of AA(anglers anonomous) for support.

GO to www.americaoutdoors.com/spoonplugger and read some of his information. I have been following his teachings for a long time. Using his methods take time & effort, but I also believe what he says, "knowledge is the key to fishing success" He preaches that there are no "Magic Lures" His teachings of speed & depth have won us several tournaments.

When I was a kid growing up around the Kansas City area, I had three lures. Grape Manns Jelly Worms, Beetle Spins and yellow marabou jigs. That was all I needed to catch Largemouths, Bream and Crappie. Oh well, I guess there alot worse things to be addicted to!!!

Neal, each to his own addiction. While I "only" fill two (large) tackle boxes with lures, I stopped counting at 30+ rods (including fly, spin, casting, trolling, etc.). It's almost embarassing that I am going to spring for more (downrigger) this year . New lures every winter are a given; after all, hope springs eternal.

While I didn't make the get-together at Glendo last fall, I will always be interested in sharing my new boat to try some new (to me) waters and learn from someone else. Since you don't have a boat, that's an offer. When and where is the western round-up planned for this year?

Even though the weather ruined last years get-together I would still like to try one again in 2001. I told Scott I would wait and see the complete tournament schedule this year and try to pick a weekend that doesn't have to compete with tournaments or hunting season. Any suggestions on a location?

I have basically fished Boyd and Horsetooth over the years with only an occasional foray into the great beyond, so almost anyplace (CO, WY, NE, or other) is fine for me. With my new boat, I'd love to try some new waters. My only conflicts are the last week of June for an annual fly-in trip to NW Ontario (smallies and pike, no walleye) and the last week of July-1st week of August for family vacation. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the faceless names on this board.

You think you have it bad?
I get two magazines from Bass Pro and Cabelas. I get one in my name and I make my wife get one. I have one of each in the library(ha) and the other next to my recliner to look at during commercial breaks. I think that I may have to ask for a 2nd copy since they are both worn out already. I have many pages highlighted and marked. Too bad Christmas is gone, I already have a huge list for next year, Fathers day, Mothers Day, Birthday, Fishing Opener, Hunting Opener, Thanksgiving, etc....

Did ya;ll check out the new Lowrance's. Looks pretty hot to me.

Hehe!
Think of the catalogs as lures, there must be a Yo-Zuri or Rapala label on em somewhere. The presentation is excellent, delievered right to you...Hehe. These guys have it figgured out.
On the other hand...How about that new Tracker Tundra!!!??? Lookit the lines on that boat!!! WHOA!!!

Quick solution:

Buy the lures, then send them to me. You won't be tempted to purchase anymore that way :oP

Does your wife know what those things are worth? Let us know when she plans a yard sale!:7

Take a picture of your wife in last year's dress and your kids in last year's shoes - tape them to the front of your catalog. If you are single, tape a picture of Cindy Crawford to the front of your catalog.

Neal, you've only hit the beginning of a very bizzarre cycle. First the crankbaits by the dozen, then you'll need larger tackle boxes, then there will be no room in your boat because of all the huge tackle boxes, then you'll need a larger boat with more storage with a larger motor to push all of the weight of the tackle boxes around. When you get the new boat it'll seem empty because of all the storage space. So you'll have to get more crankbaits buy the dozens.......This same thing happened to me 20 years ago....I still haven't recovered, It just keeps happening again and again and again...... :)

I forgot to mention this yesterday. Anyone who like to walk the dog with Zara Spooks will like this. They have a new 4 1/2 spook with propellers for and aft. It is called the Wounded Spook. Now Pike and Striper anglers can walk the dog and throw water at the same time.

Just bought 72 of them in assorted colors! LoL.

So far as I can tell, just being on this site is a good indicator (to needing therapy). I believe walleye fishermen, deer hunters and turkey hunters are among the most predisposed to your terrible affliction. Come on over to Lake Erie, as here you will also need to prfect all sorts of trolling techniques each of which ofcourse requires different rods, reels, line, etc.

There is a cure, (simply hold your breath for around 15 minutes) but unfortunatly one of the adverse side effects is death.

Good luck, live long and be well! The accumulation of tackle and grey hair, still beats the alternative.

Neal since you have the same problem that I have, they Bass Pro has sent you their credit card info, where the more you use it the more you earn toward buying more from them.Since my GM master card is at the maxium I can use for a new truck,I went for it.Get two one for your wife every time she buys something you get a new lure. That way it is not your fault you have to spend the pionts you earn or lose it.I don't think this helps our problem, but it should make that heated dock alot bigger.

I FOUND A WAY TO MAKE IT ALL PAINLESS. I USED TO SMOKE 3 PACKS OF CIGERETTES A DAY AND OF COURSE I DRANK A BIT. I DON'T SMOKE AND ONLY HAVE A BEER ONCE IN A WHILE. SO I JUST SAT DOWN WITH MY NETCRAFT AND SENT AN ORDER, SENT AN ORDER FOR SLAB SPOONS TO BILL ARNOLDS SPORTING GOODS IN TEXAS (BEST SLAB SPOONS AROUND).
I AM ABOUT TO ORDER AN AUTO PILOT FROM PRO BASS AND A FEW OTHER THINGS. DO YOU KNOW THAT $3.00 A PACK TIMES 3 PACKS EQUAL $9.00 DOLLARS A DAY SO IT LOOKS LIKE I WILL HAVE A BILL OF AROUND $900. SHUCKS THATS ONLY 100 DAYS WITH OUT CIGERETTS AND THE BEER I DIDN'T DRINK WILL PAY THE SHIPPING. I JUST SWITCHED VISES.

HOPE THIS EASES THE PAIN.
