I have caught alot of eyes on Pine Point. It's not that far away from the narrows. I have also heard that the reefs in Walker bay also produce good numbers of eyes as well. Good Luck.

Great choices for that time of the year.
Also, check out partridge point -- the windy side of Bear, battle, sugar, and 5 mile. All hold lots of fish.

At times, when the wind is right -- the flat that is 1/2 way between pelican and bear -- is a great producer. Catch the ridge that runs north east out from pelican towards Bear and the flat in front of the ridge.

On the south side of bear -- check out the mud bluffs. Where the bluff turns mud colored -- there is a big break. Depending on the wind, this break holds lots of fish. It is basically in a straight line from huddles to Bear -- about the last 1/4 mile toward Bear.

In the rice beds off the east side of bear island there is a relatively large flat-- runs about 7 -9 feet that is filled with clam shells and clams. At different times of the year, lots of Walleyes come in to feed on the clams. These beds are due east of Bear island, and about 1/4-3/8 mile east of bear.

Good starting choices.

For bait - it is tough to beat a lime green, chartruse, chrustruse and lime, or firetiger jig.
Use as light a jig as possible and still get to the bottom. Typically a 1/8 oz jig for most spring fishing. If it is calm, and or aanchored, even a 1/16oz jig will work fine. If the wind is kicking up and you need more weight, go with a 1/4 oz jig. Only, in the windiest or deeper water, should you have to go to a 3/8oz jig.

The bait of choice at this time of year is a spot tail shiner. A shiner will normally outfish a fathead, on Leech about 10-1.

Take care and good fishing.

I have been going to Huddles for 30+ years. Great resort! Talk to Roy Huddle and he will get you to the right spot each day based on weather and wind direction. 2nd weekend should be fantastic this year as it has been real warm. Great northern fishing here at that time of year too.
