Heading to Boyd on Saturday and looking for some help. Was there two weeks ago and caught one small eye in 6 feet of water drifting a crawler. Where are the eyes at after they spawn? Would they even be done with the spawning routine yet?

Cherry Creek is starting to p#$s me off. I will be heading out with Neal/CO on Sunday, I think. I would like to show him what a walleye looks like since all he can catch are trout through the ice (nice trout I might add). LOL.

What affect does the DOW netting a walleye trying to spawn and then milking them, do to their mood? I imagine a live bait rig or jig with some live bait right in front of their face would work. But finding them is the hardest part. Where should I look on Sunday?

Thanks for any replies.

I've heard tell that Boyd has been doing well with a minnow/jig set-up.

I was at Boyd all last weekend and couldn't catch a walleye, only bass in the marina. We tried the entire lake with every technique and presentation we could dream up with no prevail. Not many other people catching much up there either. We tried it all.
Not very inspiring news, but thats all I can tell ya. If you do well let us know.

The only way that we have consistantly produced fish this time of year at Boyd is to pull jigs tipped with minnows. We try to stay in that 20'-35' range. If there is no wind light line and 1/16 ounce jig, but usually 1/4. Picked fish up all over the lake, just target that depth range. I bet pulling Raps at night would produce well.
Last year a nice fish 12+ was caught and released
by the inlet about this time of year.

We fished the Creek yesterday, with the usual results. No walleyes and one small perch that Eric caught the first 10 seconds there. We got blown off the lake at 1:00 by a snow squal. Water is only 46 degrees right now.

Thanks for getting the net Neal. It was so big I would never have gotten it in the boat by myself.
