View Full Version : Arlington Sports Show
Could someone please tell me where this is located. Is it in Arlington, Il., Arlington Heights, Il or somewhere else altogether. Also, as sports shows go, how does it rate. Thanks for the help.

It's in Arlington Hgts. at Arlington Park Horse racing track. Very easy to get to. It's a smaller show but generally ok. It beats sitting in the house or garage. $5 to park.

Better than sitting home?..... Just barely. I just got home from the Arlington show. There are very few deals to be found there. I didn't spend a penny even though I was hoping to find something. It seems like there are more bargains to be found at the Rosemont show. If you're only going to go to one show, make it the Rosemont - IMHO.
Thanks for the imput. I was thinking about driving in from Iowa for something to do this weekend but think I'll just stay home. I appreciate the candid report. Thanks again.

I went last night also and enjoyed myself. Talked to several reps and guides, bought several Berkley Frenzy baits for $3.99 that usually sell for $5.oo+, listened to a good presentation on the Kankee River, saw the new Javelin Walleye bought(OMC), got in the new Tundra boat by Tracker and saw what it was all about, saw some friends and had a great piece of pizza. The only drawback for me was-- the ice cream machine wasn't working until this weekend. Suppose some guys would complain if hung with a NEW ROPE!!! Happy New Year

Personally I like the Arlington Show. It is smaller than Rosemont, but growing. I don't walk into the Arlington show looking to find a lot of deals..maybe some. I go there because it is close, in the past reasonably priced, and it is mostly all fishing. The other reason it is nice is it a little smaller and more intimate. You can attend seminars and actually meet people at the booths without 200 other people crawling up you back. I attended at nice reel cleaning seminar last year with 15 other people and it was great. Nice and personal.
If I want to walk miles of crowded convention hall to find some real deals after wading past the zillon luggage dist. and wine sellers then Rosemont is where I go.

Hey Sandman - that pizza you enjoyed started at $4.00 a slice for cheese and $4.50 for pepperoni or sausage. Pop starts at $2.25.
It's always great to see the Pro's/speakers and new boats, but I'll see all that and more at the Rosemont show in two weeks. I can't think of one thing the Arlington show has that the Rosemont show doesn't and at least you'll find deals on gear at the Rosemont show.
Tub means skow.I was not impressed!I'm sure it will fit somebodies needs.Let's see who will volunteer to be a guinea pig.I'm wondering if Mr.Parsons fishes the circuit out of one. After all,Isn't a pro's(motional or fessonal)job to be a test pilot on new products?Let's see how many Tundras fish the PWT.Maybe, then I'll be impressed. And,maybe, then I'll eat my words.I've eaten crow before.I also wonder why Tracker didn't build this new tech.in a smaller more affordable boat, something more obtainable to the average Joe.19k with a 115.How much maxed out?As far as the rest of the goes, just more of the same only less.Hoped to fill up on plastic tails but most was bass orientated. No bulk. After all the years, maybe I've been to enough shows, maybe I just need to go fishing.
