cabelas or if you have access to computer people, The 7.2AH battery that is in the vex is the same size as what is in a ups system. They are like models from APC on 400 series or on the APC 1400RM series as well. Every 2 years the batteries get replaced if they need it or not and old ones are thrown out. Works good for spares.

Batteries Plus in Apple Vally MN has them. Take your old one with. I would imagine all Batteries Plus stores carry them and it was very reasonable. I'm not going to quote the price because it's been 2 years since I bought it and the memory fails me.
The most important thing to remember is to charge the battery in the off season (summer) when not in use and keep it fully charged between outings on the ice. If weight is not a problem Fleet Farm sells a 30 amp hour deep cycle that is 8"x6"x 7" high and would probably prove longer lasting than the dry cell but quite a bit heavier.
Good luck in your search.

Check Fleet Farm. I got an "off-brand" for $18 and its doing and lasting as long as my Vexilar brand. I rotate my two batteries every cycle.
