View Full Version : Deep Cycle Battery Bad?
I screwed up and forgot about one of my deep cycle batterys out in my garage not being charged after I used it last. The voltmeter says it has about 1.5v in it. I'm sure the battery is dead for good now because of my neglect, I tried to charge it and it will not take a charge. I thought I would ask if a "jolt" might wake it up or should I just plan on replacing it? Thanks in advance.

Andy;
Take'r in and get a fresh one. Even if it did take a charge it would not hold it well and would be way below 100%.

Andy. If it never froze,why would it be shot? Once they get very low its hard to get them to take a charge,most of the time they will. Take it to batt shop,then you can be sure.

I had a battery that was totally dischartged this Fall and I could not get it to take a charge on my portable charger. I took it into the battery shop (Interstate). They tested it and used their powerful charger on it and it was as good as new. So don't give up before you go that route. Good luck.
