Brion,
Me and my 7 year old fished Maumee Bay this morning. It was his first walleye trip.We were trolling harnesses with snap weights. We took our limits in a little over 2 hrs.The first fish we caught was a 9lber.My son got that one.He was more exicted than I have ever seen him.He nows claims to be the new WalleyeWiz.I noticed the fish that we were catching to be of better size than the jiggers were catching. The smallest fish that we got was 20in.Buy the way I showed my son
the true meaning of a sportmans as we released that 9lber together .I promised him that the first 10lber he catches I will have it mounted,he agreed.
Good Fishing

I was on my way to the bay and stopped short at the reefs.. Going to the bay in the morning if your there call me on 79. Good job on the catch and the release. Should have left a good impression. I have to say I saw a table today with somewhere around 15 fish --all close to Ten#-They did not have eggs left in them and they were full of partially disolved (I think perch)pretty good size. Not saying how or where yet till PWT is over.I promised!!!!

Airwave,
Are you talking about the Toledo Light that is in Michigan waters by the shipping channel??
I believe it is almost straight out from Bolles Harbor.

Ram Man,
The Toledo Harbor Light is the first structure outside of Turtle Island in the bay and is a little ways off the shipping channel. It is an older, building type lighthouse built on a pile of rocks and the water depth is much shallower than the waters around the structures off of Monroe you are talking about. They are radar bouys further out on the shipping channel. Locals call them "sputnik", "the pinger" and "the turnaround" (among other names)...the latter is actually on the outer end of the shipping channel and the others are toward the bay and are part of the actual series of channel markers. Maybe someone who fishes that area a lot more than I can give the actual numbers of large bouys. The shipping channel markers are numbered every mile, (I think) starting at the outer end.
