But Cold...Had a real slow start but slowly improved ended up with around 25+ all (jacks)Had alot on that got off before the net got on..lol That area is starting to slow I think and will be moving back to the reefs for the next trip...

We were in there Sunday also and did OK, but nothing like the guys did in that area Sat. Wind change and front moving in must have slowed the bite some as same charters who limited Sat. didn't do it Sunday. We lost a lot of fish also - light bite and we weren't using any stingers. Still a great day, and a bonus - some walleye !!!

PS Magic Marker said he caught some big females Sat. in reef area that had not spawned...

Thats interesting about the females not spawned out. All the big females I saw this weekend were from the reef area and all spawned out...Hmmmm..Yes Sat. was at Toledo was a whole lot better...I didn't go there Sat. but a buddy of mine said it was great..Alot of Capts. didn't make the run Sun. because of the threat of strong NE Winds that didn't happen..

LAST EDITED ON Apr-17-00 AT 03:37PM (CST)[p]He said he was in the reef area - north in the deeper water??? A lot of the captains I know were fishing there Sunday and didn't have near the luck because they're the ones who sent me there Sunday. ;-) Turned out to be a very nice day for 3 to 5s ;-)

I just can't resist. Here is excerpt from email Reefer (Rick Cole) just sent me about Erie: (sure hope he doesn't mind) ;-)
"Sheila: A quick update! It's, killin' me... We smoked the pigs sat. and sun. Saturday we pulled eleven fish in 5 hours, 7 to 11 pounds, our heaviest 5 fish weighed 48.7 pounds. Sunday we pulled 14 fish, same deal 7 to 10 pounds, five biggest weighed 47.5 pounds. A lot of guys are pulling fish, but most are not on the pigs. I'm sure 'foot is getting his share as well as Brumbaugh. I helped a few of the Lund boys like Mark Martin, Andy Kuffer and Greg Yarbrough. I sure hope they do well. The new rig runs and handles like a dream. I have business in Chicago until Thursday morning, if all goes well I'll be rolling in late that nite."
