Knot tieing has never been my strong suit,
I know you guys can tell me.What is the best knot for fireline, mono.spider wire? I mostly use rapala knot on cranks, seem to have more action. I use the palamar for the other knots. Is this good or bad? Thanks for any help.

ddt,
explaining how to tie knots can be difficult(for me atleast). here are two web sites that illustrate how to tie a number of popular knots.

Hey ddt,

Don't know where you are located, but if you make it to the Midwest walleye Expo. in Milwaukee this weekend, I will show you a knot that will work with any line, and will not ever slip and hasnt broken on me yet!

Have fun......R

Polomar knot on mono and superlines
Rapala knot on jigging spoons and cranks
Back to Back Uni when splicing knots

My wife got me a fishing knot book for Christmas a few years ago. The polomar knot was one of the very few knots that retained at least 97% of the original line strength. So I use that as much as possible.
