Are Shiners Used on Erie

I am going to be on South Bass on the 22Apr00 for my first trip to Erie. I was wondering if it would be worth bringing along Shiners or do you only pull plugs and crawlers harnesses this time of the year. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks Again and keep your line in the water.

Shiners are used more right now than at any other time for Walleye. They are jigging them with grubs on the reefs.
