Does anybody have any tips on Boyd? This will be my second time there so location will be a big help. I do have a topo map of the lake.

Who else will be there on Saturday?

Eric, I will be there on Friday, but won't have a way to contact you before Saturday. I was up there a couple of weeks ago for a short time. I fished the south end of lake and water temps were 45 degrees. Just had a couple of pickups but that was all. Just before we had to leave went up to the north end and water temps were 3 degrees warmer- if that helps. I have caught walleye along the no-wake bouys on the north end and just to the east along that northeast corner.
We were bottom-bouncing in may of last year, when we caught these fish. My son caught a large fish on the south end last fall.

i fished Boyd two weeks ago, and had some luck at about 15-20 feet with a small jig and minnow. Fished mostly the south end of the lake, and targeted the deep edge of the weed line. The water was at 47 degrees, and the water was cloudy.
Best of luck!

It's Boyd Lake, you meathead. If you know all you say you did, you would know that.

Eric, did you manage to make it to Boyd on saturday. We went up Friday morning-fishing was slow but did manage to boat two walleye over 15 inches and one healthy small mouth that was just under 15 in. We used Northland fireball jigs and a minnow. Very slow presentations and we could barely feel the pickups.

Ended up going to Cherry Creek, which was a good thing cuz my Evinrude crapped out on me as soon as I hit the water. They never can wait till the end of the day to stop running!

I will try it again in two weeks. The big John Martin tourney is this weekend!

Good Luck! Watch those guys from the NOrth chapter- they seem to do pretty good down there.

Were not worried about those northerners. It may be too hot for you guys down south.

If you see a couple guys hauling in some big fat carp, say hi!
