Are there any guidelines on how large and what features should be included on a livewell suitable for a tournament? I realize there will be some subjectivity involved - but I'm shopping for a boat and may dink around in local tournaments some day. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Has anyone written articles on this subject?

I think that most quality boats will have a 30+ gallon livewell that will pass all inspections if it was original equipment. I had mine built for several reasons, one was to make sure a 36"+ walleye would fit! Go for as large of Gallon Per Minute rating for a pump that is available. 750+ GPM is a minimum. A boat with an on the fly pickup for the livewell is a great feature also.

Out in Oregon land where the walleyes grow bigger and nobody fishes for them:-)
