I had the luxury of fishing out of Sterling State Park during July last year and was wondering is it to early to fish there now? What time of the year would be a good start time? With the water being down is the park launch open? Any comments would be appreciated from a beginner and his son trying to have some fun. Thanks in advance.

My info is from anglers that were fishing Michigan waters early last week before the big blow on Thurs and Friday, but here goes! Good fishing off Sterling south to Toledo. They did both trolling (Reef Runners and Deep Thundersticks) and drifting (bottom bouncers). Limits both days by noon with 3 in boat.
Water is real low at Sterling so they launched at Bowles Harbor. Luna Pier is also too low although I heard that the dredge was to be in soon.
