I'm looking for any info on the Twin Lakes around Lewiston, MI.
Has anyone fished there? Best times of the year to go? Favorite Techniques? Fish size? Area contacts? Etc.
All help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Bob

Bob:
I fished both Twin Lakes several years ago with good success. West Twin is bigger , deeper and clearer. Excellent SM Bass up to 4 lbs are present along with good perch and a few pike. Very few weeds exist but there are a lot of drop area with gravel/rock bottom. A deep hole exists near the outlet on the east side of the lake and I have heard rumors of large crappie and even some Musky in this area.
East Twin is smaller, fairly shallow (8-10 feet) and very flat. Walleye have been planted here for quite a few years and you can catch some fish in the 15-20" class year round drifting bait behind slip sinkers and trolling mino baits at night. The only bait shop I knew of is no longer in business, and I haven't fishied there in about 3 years. If you want more info feel free to e-mail me at fishrman@gateway.net
