View Full Version : LAKE ERIE SPRING FISHING IN APRIL
I and some friends from Northern Wisconsin are trying to plan a trip to the Clevland area for some early walleye fishing the last weekend in April. Is this a good time? if not, when woiuld be the best time and bait to use??
Any tip's would be great.
Thank You,

Jack, first, the Ohio limit on walleye will be only 4 fish per person until May 1, 2001. You might want to wait a week when the limit goes to 6. I can't help you around Cleveland, but at Port Clinton we get into some really nice size walleye in the early spring, IF the weather lets is get out. At that time of year we will be fishing the reef off Camp Perry.
Hope this helps, e-mail me if you have specific questions.

The majority of the walleyes are still in the western basin, through May. You'd be much better off in the Port Clinton area. Lots of charters, cabins, rooms, etc. Good luck
