Heading up to Leech on Wednesday for long weekend, and wondering how opener went. I understand a cold front went through. However, any tips on where to try after the weather calms down? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Depending on where you are staying -
Try the east side, west side, north side, or south side.
Fish the wind with a chartruse jig and a minnow or a charturse bead and leech - in 6 -15 feet of water and catch a bunch.
The typical 'points" all produce fish at this time of the year with the wind blowing into them.
Take care

LOL.... hey REW don't forget the middle of the lake too...
I'm getting giddy with anticipation of fishing Leech the first two weeks of June. See you one the water. (Yar craft 1895 dc with merc and a hot blond in the passenger seat..heh heh)
Yep -
Mokay reef - right near the middle -- was one of the hot spots through most of last year.
Take care.
Seriously -- fish the wind with green / lime / or charturse, jigs, on minnows, or beads on rigs, and you will do fine.
p.s.
When the weeds grow big -- don't forget to try the weedlines - pitch a jig to the spots in the middle, or work a crank on the edges.
A couple of years ago, I was up there, and a group of folks came in with a nice limit of eyes --- when many folks were coming in fishless. They had been fishing for northerns by pitching walleyedivers into holes in the weeds in 10 feet of water in Boy bay -- in the middle of the summer. Nice limit of 2-4 lb walleyes. Lots of fish live in the weeds.
Take care
