I am heading to the Madison Chain this weekend, primarily Mendota. Do you have any advice as to where to start and what is currently working for walleye? How about locations for perch? Thanx in advance!

Lund_Dude, I was out on Mendota last Tuesday and caught a 24" and a 17".(min. is 18" on Mendota)
Both were caught trolling after dark on #13 floating Rapala's(black/silver)about 6' of water out from the
boat landing at Governor Nelson Park.During the day check out areas with steep rocky drops. 2nd. Pt.,
Picnic Pt., Governors Island. When I was off Picnic Pt. tues. I was marking lots of baitfish and some
huge hooks below them. I didn't have any live bait and trolling in that area was next to impossible the
way I was getting hammered by the wind so I had to go fish an area that was protected.Next time I get
out there I'm also going to check the area from Governor Nelson Park south towards Fox Bluff. If the
eyes are up on that flat at night they can't be too far from there during the day. Thought about running
spinners and crawlers out off the first break. Good Luck and let me know how you do. Doug.
