Fished in front of (2) stacks in 24 - 27 ft of water on Friday and today (Saturday). Yesterday only caught 12 fish as went through dozens of trash fish mainly white perch. Caught 32 today but avoided the trash fish by fishing a little deeper water.
Learned Friday that you must fish clean water. We used crawler harnesses/bottom bouncers off planar boards trolling about 1.4 mph's with the wind. Best color - hammered gold/fire orange beads. Some fish came off Dipsey Diver's with Scorpions in Confusion and Boy/Girl in gold. By the way, thanks everybody for the responses on what DD rod to get. Ended up w/ Diawa Heartland Series.
Biggest fish was only just over 2 lbs. Drifters didn't seem to fair to well and people pulling plastic had mixed results with the best using wiggle warts. Very few people by new and old Sputnik's, nobody by Toledo water intake, and the water by Middle Sister was muddy. Mayfly hatches are happening in the area but not very heavy.
Marked more fish in muddy water but marked a fair amount in clean water with most at 18 - 20' down. The weather reports for 2 - 4' for the last two days has been mostly untrue with the exception of late last night and early this morning.
