I have several older Polar tip ups that are getting a little rough. Is there a way to repack the lube in them or do I have to demote them to the pike pail? It looks like I could remove the spool, the cap on the shaft (pressed or threaded?), and the axle and fill the shaft full of their Blue Lube. Is this feasible? Where can I find a larger bottle of Blue Lube? Thanks JC

I would further like to ask...Is there any way to repair the lube seal? I have about 5 of these tipups (all 10-15 years old) and 3 have had the seal go out and the lube escaped and caused the shaft to seize.

Blue Lube can be found at Fleet Farm Store's, Scheels, and from ET Enterprises.
If I remember right you can add it by removing the nut & trigger then lowering the shaft an loading the lube from the top? The seal may just be dry so after you fill them they may tighten up again.
