How have they been doing out there? Thinking of going this weekend, probably west side. Any input appreciated. Bret

From up-north.com MILLE LACS:Johnson's Portside, Steve Johnson, East side of Mille Lacs Lake in Isle, (320-676-3811) Sand: This area has slowed to a crawl. Trolling for muskies up here may be a better bet than walleyes. If you have to fish the Sand, fish it deep and slow with a long plain snell. Rocks: A consistent bite happening on the Rocks during the evening hours in 6-12 feet. The daytime action is nill unless the conditions are perfect ? a good stiff wind and cloudy skies. Mud: Every day that passes, the Mud will continue to improve. The action is spottyand quite a few of the fish being caught out there are over/unders. Gravel: More than one way to put fish in the box while on the Gravel. A deep crankbait presentation is a good bet as well as bottom bouncers with spinners. If you're good at it you can try slow drifting with a plain snell and walking sinker, but you might end up donating tackle to the Rock Gods.
