Would like to know what techniques are used succesfully for catching walleye in the bay. Are the standards such as bottom bouncers with crawler harnesses, long lining crank baits, and planer boards used primarily or do they have a different approach? Thanks in advance.

pretty much all walleye tatics work well. I like to drift the reefs with a jig head tipped with a minnow. Crawler harness work well also. good luck!

Thanks for the response, I was beginning to think no fished there. I have never been there and a friend and I have been thinking about going there next month. Have heard a lot about it but a long way to go. Thanks again. Many tight lines.

If you thenk that no one ever fishes there, you should go on a Saturday night in October. ;-)

Al - there's some shallow rock piles that come up quick out in the Bay - more so as your going out / they had no markers on them when I was fishing there.

Just got back from a week fishing there. The Alewife's are moving into the bay now and almost to the northern most part. They looked like clouds on the fish finder. We boated a few nice keepers, got a lot of smaller ones to send back to grow up. The weather was cloudy, rainy and windy most of the time there....almost thought about renaming my boat the Minnow! Had fun tho.
Good luck,
Kurt
