I'm looking at buying a new locator for my console and from what I see the Pin Point 7520 is a nice unit. I've owned a 350A and a x85 in a old rig and still have a x85 for the bow but want something different that won't interfer with my x85 in deeper water. Pin Point owners what do you like about this unit and is there anything I should be concerned with?

I ran LMS-350's for I don't know, 8 years. I had an X-85 for one year. I have had a Pinpoint 7520 for 3 or 4 years now. How ever long theve been out and it's been the best locator I've ever used. The 7520 is still the same KH as your X-85 so they will interfere with each other. It's the Pinpoint trolling motors that are 240 KH.

I talked to Reeds and they claim it won't? I'm not sure what to think about it now? You said it's the best you've owned? Hox does it compare to the 350A?

I am currently running a X85 and 7520 this year and so far so good. The X85 is at 192khz and the 7529 at 200. From what I have been told if there is more than 5 khz difference they should not cause trouble for each other.

The difference is best described this way. When all I ran was an LMS-350, I would drive up to a spot and even if I didn't mark a fish, I would fish and catch fish. With the Pinpoint, if I don't mark a fish, I go to the next spot.
That was what I found myself doing after I got used to running the locator.
I just mounted an LMS-350 next to a 7520 on a guy's boat. He's just using the Lms-350 for GPS, but I mounted a ducer anyway. With both units on, I get interference on the 7520. I don't care what anyone says, I just did it, and they interfere.

I recently converted a friend from an LMS350 to a 7520. I have seen him atleast 3 times since he mounted his 7520 and EVERYTIME I see him he says"I can not believe how much better the 7520 is than my old 350." I think that says it all.
By the way his LMS350 is for sale in the classifieds!
Check them out you will like what you see.

I talked to Pinpoint two weeks ago to order the video they have and asked about the interference question. I have an LMS160 and wanted the Pinpoint 7520 also. Their claim was it "should" not interfere, but there is no guarantee from them. The 5KHz seperation may be enough.

Mike,
I know somebody that is looking for a 350A. I looked in the WC classified but couldn't find it. Is it in another section? I looked under classified/accessories.
Please e-mail me and I will see if we can get it sold.
Thanks,
RR

He told me it was there, but I did not see it either. I'll call him tonight and see if he has sold it.

I just ordered a Pinpoint system, so I'll be looking to sell my 350a as soon as the new system is installed. I have no idea what to ask for it. It has GPS and two skimmer transducers--one standard (192 Khz I think) and one dual-frequency. Hopefully it will be ready to go in a week or so. Email me, Dennis@Climbing-Guides.com

The only time that they will not interfer is if you have the sensitivity turned down too low. Which I do not recommend, because than your not seeing what you should on either graph.
The Pinpoint factory reps say that graphs which frequencies are within 10% of each other will interfer with each other.

I run the 7520 along with a LMS160. I cant keep both units on without interference. The deeper the water the worse the problem. My solution is to keep only one unit on at any given time.
Great unit(7520), but I had to tweak the transducer for awhile on my Pro V.

I too have both units 7520 & 350A. I will not give up my 350a. Their are times one will show fish when the other wont but I used the 350 longer and know how to use it better. I geuss I must go fishing more maybe!!! I do get interference from both units. Good luck Cubby
