This might work better .. here's a Post from me this Spring:

Greg from Mansfield area .. Not much time for E this time of year ..
I've only fished P-Hill for Bass, along with many other lakes in Oh.
(IL Northside Bassmaster). Saugeye are different than walleyes in
that they like the bottom just about all the time & like to feed very
shallow .. On Indian .. very active 1-3', med active 3-5',
Lockjaw/inactive over 5' .. Try hardbottom breaklines to go with the
above depths. Saugeyes will also make nighty runs into shallow
channels & be around marina docks & shorelines - but allways on
the bottom! I like jigs & 3" char t-tails early, then switch to 1/4 oz
Rattle traps in mid April. Both castin' & trollin' ..

THANKS ALOT FOR THAT INFO: IT COINSIDES WITH SOME SUCCSESS I HAVE HAD ON ONE LAKE IN EARLY SPRING
APRIL AND MAY. BUT WHAT DO THEY DO DURING NON FEEDING TIMES DO THEY DEEPER AND HOLD INACTIVE ON BOTTOM? HOW ABOUT LATER IN YEAR LATE JUNE/JULY?
WILL THEY FEED THROUGHOUT DAY? AGAIN THANKS.

During off peak hours, I would expect them to hold adjacent to the areas they feed in during morning and evening, probably just off the closest drop off or anything that resembles one. We have some stocked saugeyes in some lakes here, and it's almost like you can draw a line between the walleyes and the saugeyes some days. If the water's dirty, or there's good shallow (1-4 feet) weed cover, we'll catch saugeyes casting jigs/twisters to shore, and walleyes dragging rigs just outside those areas. So, to answer your question, daytime location depends alot on water clarity and habitat. They could be shallow feeding if the water's dirty, or buried in shoreline weeds, or, if it's a pretty plain bottom, just outside their feeding areas in 5-10 feet. The rule of thumb that I go by is that saugeyes will have some carachteristics of bass and northerns, and I fish them as such.

I'm no expert on the subject, but I hope this helps.
